Shab E Barat Ki Dua - Prayers To Do On Nisf Shaban Night

Shab E Barat Ki Dua - Prayers To Do On Nisf Shaban Night

Shab e Barat is a critical night in the Islamic calendar; it comes in the month of Shaban (on the night between the fourteenth and fifteenth of Shaban). That is the reason it is called Nisf Shaban. This favored night starts at nightfall on Shaban fourteenth and ends at first light on Shaban fifteenth.

Various nations celebrate this day in different ways, and each has its own name for it. In South Asia, especially the Subcontinent, Nisf Shaban is known as Shab e Barat or Shabe Barat, Lailatul Barat in Arabic, Nisfu Syaban (Malam Nisfu Syaban) in Indonesia and Malaysia, and Berat Kandili in Turkey.

Shab e Barat is a night that numerous Muslims see as an evening of pardoning, in which they ask the entire night for Allah's favors. The day is considered particularly Holy, and it is said that the Almighty readily forgives those who pray earnestly and request the forgiveness of their sins. People go to mosques and pray for their loved ones by visiting their graves on this day. They pray to Allah while lighting candles. The day is often referred to as the night of records.

History of Shab e Barat

Shab e Barat is known as the night of repentance or absolution, and it is on this night that the record of human beings who will be born and die this year is prepared. On the night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban, the night occurs. People sit up all night, presenting Nawafil, doing Zikr, reciting the Quran, asking for Allah's mercy, and begging for salvation from the fires of Hell. That is the night when God decides the fate of humanity.

Holy Prophet (S.A.W) disclosed to Hazrat Ayesha (R.A), "In it, the record is made of each person who will be conceived for the current year, and of each individual who will spend away this year their deeds are conveyed to paradise with it, and their arrangements are brought back in it."

Blessings of Shab e Barat (Shab e Barat k Fazail)

The night is full of miracles and is devoted to deliverance from hellfire as well as repentance. This Hadith will clarify the rewards of Allah’s worship on this holy night.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) expressed that Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: Hazrat Jibrael came to me the evening of mid-Sha'ban and said to me: "O Prophet of Allah, head heavenwards!" I asked him: "What night is this?" and he answered: "This is the night when Allah Almighty opens 300 of the doors of kindness, pardoning everything who don't make anything His accomplice. The solitary special cases are the individuals who practice magic or divination, are dependent on wine, or continue in usury and illegal sex; these He doesn't pardon until they apologize."

As a result, according to the Hadith mentioned earlier, the night is a time for all to ask Allah for forgiveness. It's a fantastic opportunity to obtain Allah's grace, which only comes once a year. That is the night that your fate is sealed, and you will either survive or die this year. So, instead of wasting this precious night sleeping, ensure your salvation by purifying your heart and promising God that you will never take the immoral path.

Duas and Nawafil for Shab e Barat

Every human's fate is decided by Allah on this night, whether he will live or die in this year. So offer Nawafil to prolong your life, avoid future struggles, and achieve happiness.

For your convenience, the process of performing these Nawafil is also clarified here.

Dua of Nisaf Shaban

Dua e Nisf Shaban al muazzam

English Translation

O Allah! You shower favours on everyone

And no one can do You any favour.

O The Possessor of Majesty and Honour,

O The Distributor of bounty and rewards,

There is no one worthy of worship except You.

You help the fallen

And provide refuge to the refugees And give peace to those

who are in fear.

O Allah! If in the Mother of All Books that is with You

You have written me down as someone who is

Doubtful of achieving salvation, or deprived,

Or rejected or without enough sustenance,

Then, O Allah, with Your Grace

Remove all of these misfortunes from me

and in the Mother of All Books that is with You,

establish me as someone who is

blessed, with abundant provision and charitable good deeds.

Indeed, what You said in The Book You sent

Through the tongue of Your Blessed Prophet is true

That Allah changes and establishes what He wants

And with Him is the Mother of All Books.

O My Lord! For the sake of Your Divine Manifestation

On this fifteenth night of the blessed month of Sha’ban

In which You issue all Wise and Irrevocable Decrees

Remove from us all calamities and hardships,

those that we know about as well as those that we don’t,

while You know everything.

Truly, You are the Most Powerful, Most Generous.

And may Allah the Exalted shower blessings and peace on

Sayyidina Muhammad, and on his family and his companions

And all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
