Total Ayat In Quran - How Many Verses Are In Quran

Total Ayat in Quran are 6666. Some of the Islamic scholars said that the total Ayat in Quran are 6236. It is because some of the scholars count the one long Ayat as two or three Ayat and some of them count it as one complete Ayat. 

When we recite the Ayat al Kursi, it is called the most powerful Ayat of the Holy Quran. It is also known as the greatest Ayat of the Quran. Muslims recite this Ayat al Kursi for their protection from the jinns and other difficulties for the whole day. The main thing that is discussed in Ayat al Kursi is the oneness of Allah. 

He is everlasting, ever-living, and he is the only superpower, and everything belongs to him. Allah is one and only, and he has no son/daughter and no father.

Ayat in Quran

Ayat is the smallest part of the Quran by which Surah are described. All the Ayat have different lengths in Quran. Muslims also called the Ayat ‘verses’ in English.

1st Ayat of Quran

Surah Al-Alaq was the 1st Ayat revealed on our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) in Makkah. There are total 5 Ayat in Surah Al-Alaq. It is the 96th Surah of the Quran Pak.

The main theme described in this Surah is that Muslims have to obey Allah in each situation. Allah knows everything hidden and shown. In this Ayat, it is said that ‘Allah has created the man from a clot and he is the most generous who has taught the men by the pen’. 

Longest Surah of the Holy Quran

The second and the longest Surah of the Holy Quran is Surah al-Baqarah. It has 282 Ayat and 6201 words. This Surah is also known as the Madni Surah because it was revealed on our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) in Madina. There are many different topics in this Surah, and it tells the story of Hazrat Adam (A.S), Hazrat Musa (A.S), and Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S). 

The main theme discussed in the Surah Al-Baqarah is that all Muslims have to obey the laws of Islam. For the people who opposed Islam, there is guidance provided to them in this Surah. In this Surah, Allah Almighty has given a warning to the people who are not obeying the rules of Islam that I will punish those hypocrites. 

Benefits of reciting Surah Al-Baqarah

• This Surah is especially for the Muslim’s protection from Shaitan. Everyone who wants the shaitan to get out of their house must recite Surah Al-Baqarah.
• Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said that those Muslims who recite this Surah would get a lot of blessings, and those who didn’t recite this Surah and leave it will get sadness. 
• The person who recites the Surah Al-Baqarah will get the reward in life after death. And among all people, he will be the most prominent one. 
• Before sleeping, the person who recites the ten Ayat of this Surah, then shaitan cannot enter their house that night.  
• Muslims also recite this Surah daily for the protection of them and their family. 
• When someone recites this Surah, the angels especially come to that person to hear this Surah. It means that this Surah is very beautiful and has high importance. 
• If someone never wants to forget the Quran, he must recite the ten Ayat of the Surah Al-Baqarah before sleeping. 

The last revealed Ayat of the Quran

It is not confirmed that which is the last verse or Ayat that was revealed on our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). Because some scholars said that the Ayat 281 of Surat Al-Baqarah is the last Ayat of the Holy Quran in which Allah is saying that “And afraid a Day when you will be back to Allah. Then every soul will be payback for what it earned, and they will not be treated unfairly.”

On the other hand, some scholars say that Ayat 3 of Surat Maidah is the last revealed Ayat of the Holy Quran revealed on our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). In this Ayat, it is said that “This day I have done your religion for you, complete my favor upon you, and have selected for you Islam as your religion.”

Importance of Ayat in Muslim’s life

Reciting the Holy Quran or the Ayat of the Holy Quran has great importance in Muslim’s life. When a Muslim recites Holy Quran, he listens to Allah’s voice and guidance. When someone is sad and starts reciting the Quran, he will get consolement, encouragement, and mercy from Allah. 

If we are in any problem and cannot find the solution, then one should recite the Ayat’s or verses of the Holy Quran because there is a solution to every problem in this Holy Book.
