In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اقۡرَاۡ بِاسۡمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۱﴾

Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, ﴾1﴿

خَلَقَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۲﴾

Createth man from a clot. ﴾2﴿

اقۡرَاۡ وَرَبُّكَ الۡاَكۡرَمُۙ‏ ﴿۳﴾

Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, ﴾3﴿

الَّذِىۡ عَلَّمَ بِالۡقَلَمِۙ‏ ﴿۴﴾

Who teacheth by the pen, ﴾4﴿

عَلَّمَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡؕ‏ ﴿۵﴾

Teacheth man that which he knew not. ﴾5﴿

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ لَيَطۡغٰٓىۙ‏ ﴿۶﴾

Nay, but verily man is rebellious ﴾6﴿

اَنۡ رَّاٰهُ اسۡتَغۡنٰىؕ‏ ﴿۷﴾

That he thinketh himself independent! ﴾7﴿

اِنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الرُّجۡعٰىؕ‏ ﴿۸﴾

Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. ﴾8﴿

اَرَءَيۡتَ الَّذِىۡ يَنۡهٰىؕ‏ ﴿۹﴾

Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth ﴾9﴿

عَبۡدًا اِذَا صَلّٰىؕ‏ ﴿۱۰﴾

A slave when he prayeth? ﴾10﴿

اَرَءَيۡتَ اِنۡ كَانَ عَلَى الۡهُدٰٓىۙ‏ ﴿۱۱﴾

Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) ﴾11﴿

اَوۡ اَمَرَ بِالتَّقۡوٰىۙ‏ ﴿۱۲﴾

Or enjoineth piety? ﴾12﴿

اَرَءَيۡتَ اِنۡ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰىؕ‏ ﴿۱۳﴾

Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? ﴾13﴿

اَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَرٰىؕ‏ ﴿۱۴﴾

Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? ﴾14﴿

كَلَّا لَٮِٕنۡ لَّمۡ يَنۡتَهِ ۙ لَنَسۡفَعًۢا بِالنَّاصِيَةِۙ‏ ﴿۱۵﴾

Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - ﴾15﴿

نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ‌ۚ‏ ﴿۱۶﴾

The lying, sinful forelock - ﴾16﴿

فَلۡيَدۡعُ نَادِيَهٗۙ‏ ﴿۱۷﴾

Then let him call upon his henchmen! ﴾17﴿

سَنَدۡعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَۙ‏ ﴿۱۸﴾

We will call the guards of hell. ﴾18﴿

كَلَّا ؕ لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَاسۡجُدۡ وَاقۡتَرِبْ۩‏ ﴿۱۹﴾

Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ﴾19﴿
