مختصر سی یہ زندگانی ہے
تیری میری ہی بس کہانی ہے
آگ دریا میں جو لگاتا ہے
وہ تری آنکھ کا ہی پانی ہے
تیری صورت کو روز پڑھتا ہوں
یہ صحیفہ تو آسمانی ہے
آسماں بھی زمیں پہ اترا ہے
دل میں جب بھی کسی نے ٹھانی ہے
دھوپ ہی دھوپ ہے مرے سر پر
دوستوں کی ہی مہربانی ہے
ہے ندی کا پہاڑ سے رشتہ
اس لئے موج میں روانی ہے
اور قصے سنائیے جاویدؔ
عشق کی داستاں پرانی ہے

teri surat ko roz paDhta hun
ye sahifa to aasmani hai
aasman bhi zamin pe utra hai
dil mein jab bhi kisi ne Thani hai
dhup hi dhup hai mere sar par
doston ki hi mehrbani hai
hai nadi ka pahaD se rishta
is liye mauj mein rawani hai
aur qisse sunaiye 'jawed'
ishq ki dastan purani hai
