تب اس نے مری چھاؤں کا احسان لیا ہے
جب مجھ کو پرندوں نے شجر مان لیا ہے
ڈرتا ہوں زمیں اس کا برا مان نہ جائے
تھوڑا سا فلک سر پہ اگر تان لیا ہے
آوارہ مزاجی کی تسلی نہیں ہوتی
میں نے تو ترا سارا جہاں چھان لیا ہے
بس حکم ملا اور نکل آئے وہاں سے
چلتے ہوئے عجلت میں ہی سامان لیا ہے
یہ زیست تو گوہرؔ مجھے ورثے میں ملی تھی
دنیا نے مگر اس کا بھی تاوان لیا ہے

Darta hun zamin is ka bura man na jae
thoDa sa falak sar pe agar tan liya hai
aawara-mizaji ki tasalli nahin hoti
main ne to tera sara jahan chhan liya hai
bas hukm mila aur nikal aae wahan se
chalte hue ujlat mein hi saman liya hai
ye zist to 'gauhar' mujhe wirse mein mili thi
duniya ne magar is ka bhi tawan liya hai
