کہ ہم نوائے محبت بلند رکھتے ہیں

اسی لیے تو خفا ہیں ستم شعار کہ ہم

نگاہ نرم و دل دردمند رکھتے ہیں

اگرچہ دل وہی رجعت پسند ہے اپنا

مگر زبان ترقی پسند رکھتے ہیں

ہم ایسے عرش نشینوں سے وہ درخت اچھے

جو آندھیوں میں بھی سر کو بلند رکھتے ہیں

چلے ہو دیکھنے مشتاقؔ جن کو پچھلی رات

وہ لوگ شام سے دروازہ بند رکھتے ہیں
