کوئی کرتا ہے حفاظت مری تنہائی کی

میں تو گم اپنے نشے میں تھا مجھے کیا معلوم

کس نے منہ پھیر لیا کس نے پذیرائی کی

وہ تغافل بھی نہ تھا اور توجہ بھی نہ تھی

کبھی ٹوکا نہ کبھی حوصلہ افزائی کی

ہچکیاں شام شفق تاب کی تھمتی ہی نہ تھیں

اب بھی رک رک کے صدا آتی ہے شہنائی کی

ہم سے پہلے بھی سخنور ہوئے کیسے کیسے

ہم نے بھی تھوڑی بہت قافیہ پیمائی کی
