گناہ کتنے ہی ہم بے ارادہ کرتے رہے

نہ صرف اہل خرد ہی کا ہم پہ احساں ہے

کہ احمقوں سے بھی ہم استفادہ کرتے رہے

کچھ اس سلیقے سے گزری ہے زندگی اپنی

ہر ایک تیر پہ ہم دل کشادہ کرتے رہے

مرے گروہ کا رشتہ ہے اس قبیلے سے

جو زندگی کا سفر پا پیادہ کرتے رہے

ہوا ہے ایسا کہ فارغ ارادتاً بھی کبھی

ہم اپنی راہ میں کانٹے زیادہ کرتے رہے
