آگ جنگل میں لگی تھی لیکن

بستیوں میں بھی دھواں جا پہنچا

ایک اڑتی ہوئی چنگاری کا

سایہ پھیلا تو کہاں جا پہنچا

تنگ گلیوں میں امڈتے ہوئے لوگ

گو بچا لائے ہیں جانیں اپنی

اپنے سر پر ہیں جنازے اپنے

اپنے ہاتھوں میں زبانیں اپنی

آگ جب تک نہ بجھے جنگل کی

بستیوں تک کوئی جاتا ہی نہیں

حسن اشجار کے متوالوں کو

حسن انساں نظر آتا ہی نہیں
