ہوا کی شاخ سے بوئے وصال باندھتے ہیں

ہمارے بس میں کہاں زیست کو سخن کرنا

یہ قافیہ فقط اہل کمال باندھتے ہیں

یہ عہد جیب تراشاں کو اب ہوا معلوم

یہاں کے لوگ گرہ میں سوال باندھتے ہیں

وہ خوب جانتے ہیں ہم دعا نہادوں کو

ہمارے ہاتھ بوقت زوال باندھتے ہیں

سبھی کو شوق اسیری ہے اپنی اپنی جگہ

وہ ہم کو اور ہم ان کا خیال باندھتے ہیں

تمہیں پتہ ہو کہ ہم ساحلوں کے پروردہ

محبتوں میں بھی مضبوط جال باندھتے ہیں

پھر اس کے بعد کہیں بھی وہ جا نہیں سکتا

جسے بھی باندھتے ہیں ہم کمال باندھتے ہیں
