اے میاں کون یہ کہتا ہے محبت کی ہے

بات یہ ہے کہ یہاں بات ضرورت کی ہے

پھر کوئی چاک گریبان لیے پھرتا ہے

حضرت عشق نے پھر کوئی شرارت کی ہے

بس یونہی ایک ہیولیٰ سا نظر آیا تھا

اور پھر دل نے دھڑکنے کی جو شدت کی ہے

وہ مری چاہ کا ویسے بھی طلب گار نہ تھا

پھر مرے دل نے سنبھلنے میں بھی عجلت کی ہے

ہم بہت دور چلے آئے ہیں بسنے کو عطاؔ

اس سے پہلے بھی بہت دور سے ہجرت کی ہے
