عشق سے بھاگ کے جایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

نقش یک خواب مٹایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

ہم اسے دیکھ کے نظریں بھی ہٹا سکتے نہیں

اور اسے دیکھنے جایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

وہ کہیں خواب میں پوشیدہ کوئی خواب سہی

دیر تک درد دبایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

زیر لب ہیں جو صدائیں کوئی سنتا ہی نہیں

اور بہت شور مچایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

دل چھپایا کسی تتلی کے پروں کے نیچے

یہ چھپانا تو چھپایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

رات نے گیت سنایا تھا کسی صبح کا گیت

گیت ایسا کہیں گایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا

اک نیا رنگ اڑایا ہے ان آنکھوں سے عطاؔ

رنگ رنگوں میں ملایا بھی نہیں جا سکتا
