دل پہ جب درد کی افتاد پڑی ہوتی ہے

دوستو وہ تو قیامت کی گھڑی ہوتی ہے

جس طرف جائیں جہاں جائیں بھری دنیا میں

راستہ روکے تری یاد کھڑی ہوتی ہے

جس نے مر مر کے گزاری ہو یہ اس سے پوچھو

ہجر کی رات بھلا کتنی کڑی ہوتی ہے

ہنستے ہونٹوں سے بھی جھڑتے ہیں فسانے غم کے

خشک آنکھوں میں بھی ساون کی جھڑی ہوتی ہے

جب کوئی شخص کہیں ذکر وفا کرتا ہے

دل کو اے دوستو تکلیف بڑی ہوتی ہے

اس طرح بیٹھے ہیں وہ آج مری محفل میں

جس طرح شیشے میں تصویر جڑی ہوتی ہے
