دن گزرتا ہے کہاں رات کہاں ہوتی ہے

درد کے ماروں سے اب بات کہاں ہوتی ہے

ایک سے چہرے تو ہوتے ہیں کئی دنیا میں

ایک سی صورت حالات کہاں ہوتی ہے

زندگی کے وہ کسی موڑ پہ گاہے گاہے

مل تو جاتے ہیں ملاقات کہاں ہوتی ہے

آسمانوں سے کوئی بوند نہیں برسے گی

جلتے صحراؤں میں برسات کہاں ہوتی ہے

یوں تو اوروں کی بہت باتیں سنائیں ان کو

اپنی جو بات ہے وہ بات کہاں ہوتی ہے

جیسی آغاز محبت میں ہوا کرتی ہے

ویسی پھر شدت جذبات کہاں ہوتی ہے

پیار کی آگ بنا دیتی ہے کندن جن کو

ان کے ذہنوں میں بھلا ذات کہاں ہوتی ہے
