تو کیا شرار بھی وجود سنگ سخت میں نہیں

مری بقا کا راز ہے مسافرت مسافرت

سو نقش پا بغیر میرے ساز و رخت میں نہیں

مجھے ہے شہر کے گھروں سے صرف اس قدر گلہ

کہ بھائی حسن آسمان لخت لخت میں نہیں

مرا کمال منحصر ہے میرے اختصار پر

مری نمو کا شائبہ کسی درخت میں نہیں

فقیر شہر بھی رہا ہوں شہریارؔ بھی مگر

جو اطمینان فقر میں ہے تاج و تخت میں نہیں
