اور کیا میرے لیے عرصۂ محشر ہوگا

اور کیا میرے لیے عرصۂ محشر ہوگا

میں شجر ہوں گا ترے ہاتھ میں پتھر ہوگا

یوں بھی گزریں گی ترے ہجر میں راتیں میری

چاند بھی جیسے مرے سینے میں خنجر ہوگا

زندگی کیا ہے کئی بار یہ سوچا میں نے

خواب سے پہلے کسی خواب کا منظر ہوگا

ہاتھ پھیلائے ہوئے شام جہاں آئے گی

بند ہوتا ہوا دروازۂ خاور ہوگا

میں کسی پاس کے صحرا میں بکھر جاؤں گا

تو کسی دور کے ساحل کا سمندر ہوگا

وہ مرا شہر نہیں شہر خموشاں کی طرح

جس میں ہر شخص کا مرنا ہی مقدر ہوگا

کون ڈوبے گا کسے پار اترنا ہے ظفرؔ

فیصلہ وقت کے دریا میں اتر کر ہوگا
