میں نے اے دل تجھے سینے سے لگایا ہوا ہے

اور تو ہے کہ مری جان کو آیا ہوا ہے

بس اسی بوجھ سے دوہری ہوئی جاتی ہے کمر

زندگی کا جو یہ احسان اٹھایا ہوا ہے

کیا ہوا گر نہیں بادل یہ برسنے والا

یہ بھی کچھ کم تو نہیں ہے جو یہ آیا ہوا ہے

راہ چلتی ہوئی اس راہ گزر پر اجملؔ

ہم سمجھتے ہیں قدم ہم نے جمایا ہوا ہے

ہم یہ سمجھے تھے کہ ہم بھول گئے ہیں اس کو

آج بے طرح ہمیں یاد جو آیا ہوا ہے

وہ کسی روز ہواؤں کی طرح آئے گا

راہ میں جس کی دیا ہم نے جلایا ہوا ہے

کون بتلائے اسے اپنا یقیں ہے کہ نہیں

وہ جسے ہم نے خدا اپنا بنایا ہوا ہے

یوں ہی دیوانہ بنا پھرتا ہے ورنہ اجملؔ

دل میں بیٹھا ہوا ہے ذہن پہ چھایا ہوا ہے
