پانی کو ساحلوں سے جدا کیا کرے کوئی

بارش کا پہلا قطرہ ہی بستی ڈبو گیا

اب اپنی جاں کا قرض ادا کیا کرے کوئی

جب گرد اڑ رہی ہو حریم خیال میں

آئینہ دیکھنے کے سوا کیا گرے کوئی

وہ کیا گئے کہ شہر ہی ویران ہو گیا

اب جنگلوں میں رہ کے صدا کیا کرے کوئی

اپنے بدن کی آگ سے شمعیں جلائیے

کچے گھروں میں جشن حنا کیا کرے کوئی

زہراب زندگی تو رگوں میں اتر گیا

اب اے غم فراق بتا کیا کرے کوئی

مٹی سے کھیلتا ہوا رزق ہوا ہوا

اخترؔ اب اور شرح وفا کیا کرے کوئی
