ہجر اک حسن ہے اس حسن میں رہنا اچھا

چشم بے خواب کو خوں ناب کا گہنا اچھا

کوئی تشبیہ کا خورشید نہ تلمیح کا چاند

سر قرطاس لگا حرف برہنہ اچھا

پار اترنے میں بھی اک صورت غرقابی ہے

کشتئ خواب رہ موج پہ بہنا اچھا

یوں نشیمن نہیں ہر روز اٹھائے جاتے

اسی گلشن میں اسی ڈال پہ رہنا اچھا

بے دلی شرط وفا ٹھہری ہے معیار تو دیکھ

میں برا اور مرا رنج نہ سہنا اچھا

دھوپ اس حسن کی یک لحظہ میسر تو ہوئی

پھر نہ تا عمر لگا سائے میں رہنا اچھا

دل جہاں بات کرے دل ہی جہاں بات سنے

کار دشوار ہے اس طرز میں کہنا اچھا
