اشک باری نہ مٹی سینہ فگاری نہ گئی

لالہ کاری کسی صورت بھی ہماری نہ گئی

کوچۂ حسن چھٹا تو ہوئے رسوائے شراب

اپنی قسمت میں جو لکھی تھی وہ خواری نہ گئی

ان کی مستانہ نگاہوں کا نہیں کوئی قصور

ناصحو زندگی خود ہم سے سنواری نہ گئی

چشم محزوں پہ نہ لہرائی وہ زلف شاداب

یہ پری ہم سے بھی شیشے میں اتاری نہ گئی

مدتیں ہو گئیں بچھڑے ہوئے تم سے لیکن

آج تک دل سے مرے یاد تمہاری نہ گئی

شاد و خنداں رہے ہم یوں تو جہاں میں لیکن

اپنی فطرت سے کبھی درد شعاری نہ گئی

سیکڑوں بار مرے سامنے کی توبہ مگر

توبہ اخترؔ کہ تری بادہ گساری نہ گئی
