تہہ بہ تہہ ہے راز کوئی آب کی تحویل میں

خامشی یوں ہی نہیں رہتی ہے گہری جھیل میں

میں نے بچپن میں ادھورا خواب دیکھا تھا کوئی

آج تک مصروف ہوں اس خواب کی تکمیل میں

ہر گھڑی احکام جاری کرتا رہتا ہے یہ دل

ہاتھ باندھے میں کھڑا ہوں حکم کی تعمیل میں

کب مری مرضی سے کوئی کام ہوتا ہے تمام

ہر گھڑی رہتا ہوں میں کیوں بے سبب تعجیل میں

مانگتی ہے اب محبت اپنے ہونے کا ثبوت

اور میں جاتا نہیں اظہار کی تفصیل میں

مدعا تیرا سمجھ لیتا ہوں تیری چال سے

تو پریشاں ہے عبث الفاظ کی تاویل میں

اپنی خاطر بھی تو عالمؔ چیز رکھنی تھی کوئی

اب کہاں کچھ بھی بچا ہے تیری اس زنبیل میں
