ایسا لگتا ہے کہ سینے میں چھری لگتی ہے

رات بھاری تھی تو تھے اس کے ستم سے بے زار

صبح آئی ہے تو وہ اور بری لگتی ہے

وہ ہو آرائش افکار کہ زیبائش فن

آج دونوں کی روش خانہ پری لگتی ہے

لوگ مانگے کے اجالے سے ہیں ایسے مرعوب

روشنی اپنے چراغوں کی بری لگتی ہے

اہل دانش ہوئے ارباب سیاست کے مرید

ایسی پستی پہ مرے دل میں چھری لگتی ہے
