کون کہتا ہے سر عرش بریں رہتا ہے

کون کہتا ہے سر عرش بریں رہتا ہے

وہ تو اک درد ہے جو دل کے قریں رہتا ہے

چاند پر اپنے قدم آپ نے کیوں روک لیے

ایک گام اور کہ سورج بھی یہیں رہتا ہے

شمع کی طرح پگھلتا ہوں میں لمحہ لمحہ

میرے احساس میں اک شعلہ جبیں رہتا ہے

دل کے دروازے پہ اب کس کو صدا دیتے ہو

مدتیں گزریں یہاں کوئی نہیں رہتا ہے

وہ جو سورج کو ہتھیلی پہ لیے پھرتا تھا

انہیں تاریک سی گلیوں میں کہیں رہتا ہے

جن فضاؤں میں تمناؤں کا دم گھٹتا ہے

ہاں مرے دور کا فن کار وہیں رہتا ہے

جانے یہ شوق کی ہے کون سی منزل خسروؔ

میں کہیں رہتا ہوں دل میرا کہیں رہتا ہے

kaun kahta hai sar-e-arsh-e-barin rahta hai
wo to ek dard hai jo dil ke qarin rahta hai

chand par apne qadam aap ne kyun rok liye
ek gam aur ki suraj bhi yahin rahta hai

shama ki tarah pighalta hun main lamha lamha
mere ehsas mein ek shoala-jabin rahta hai

dil ke darwaze pe ab kis ko sada dete ho
muddaten guzrin yahan koi nahin rahta hai

wo jo suraj ko hatheli pe liye phirta tha
unhin tarik si galiyon mein kahin rahta hai

jin fazaon mein tamannaon ka dam ghaTta hai
han mere daur ka fankar wahin rahta hai

jaane ye shauq ki hai kaun si manzil 'KHusraw'
main kahin rahta hun dil mera kahin rahta hai
