بچپن تمام گزرا ہے تاروں کی چھاؤں میں

تتلی کے پیچھے جاتی تھی بادل کے گاؤں میں

گرمی کی تیز دھوپ میں پیپل کی چھاؤں میں

سونیؔ بڑا سکون تھا چھوٹے سے گاؤں میں

منزل کی آرزو بھلا کرتے بھی کس طرح

کانٹے چبھے ہوئے تھے ہمارے تو پاؤں میں

جب دھوپ کے سفر سے وہ آئے گا لوٹ کر

اس کو بٹھا کے رکھوں گی زلفوں کی چھاؤں میں

اے دوست راہ عشق میں چلتی میں کس طرح

زنجیر ڈال رکھی تھی دنیا نے پاؤں میں
