جب مری زیست کے عنواں نئے مطلوب ہوئے
میرے اعمال میں ارمان بھی محسوس ہوئے
ان میں سب اپنا پتہ اپنا نشاں ڈھونڈتے ہیں
جتنے افسانے ترے نام سے منسوب ہوئے
سب دکھاتے ہیں ترا عکس مری آنکھوں میں
ہم زمانے کو اسی طور سے محبوب ہوئے
جن کو ایمان تھا نظروں کی مسیحائی پر
دل کی بستی سے جو گزرے بڑے محجوب ہوئے
قطرے قطرے سے لہو کے اسے سرسبز کیا
اور دیوانے اسی شاخ پہ مصلوب ہوئے

jitne afsane tere nam se mansub hue
sab dikhate hain tera aks meri aankhon mein
hum zamane ko isi taur se mahbub hue
jin ko iman tha nazron ki masihai par
dil ki basti se jo guzre baDe mahjub hue
qatre qatre se lahu ke ise sarsabz kiya
aur diwane isi shaKH pe maslub hue
