یعنی مجھے بھی ساتھ تہہ آب لے گیا
اس نے نہیں کیا ہے مری رات کو حسیں
گو شام کو ہی دن کے سبھی تاب لے گیا
تھا خوب طرف دار تمہارا پیام بر
جس جس پہ اچھا لکھا تھا وہ باب لے گیا
میں نے نہیں تھی چھیڑی مری تب کوئی غزل
جب میرے سب خیال وہ بے خواب لے گیا
تب رہ گیا میں اپنی ہی اس سادگی پہ دنگ
جب دیکھا میرے حرفوں کو تالاب لے گیا

us ne nahin kiya hai meri raat ko hasin
go sham ko hi din ke sabhi tab le gaya
tha KHub tarf-dar tumhaara payam-bar
jis jis pe achchha likkha tha wo bab le gaya
main ne nahin thi chheDi meri tab koi ghazal
jab mere sab KHayal wo be-KHwab le gaya
tab rah gaya main apni hi us sadgi pe dang
jab dekha mere harfon ko talab le gaya
