پرانے وقت کا سکہ اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
تمہاری تشنگی دیکھی نہیں گئی مجھ سے
میں اپنی اوک میں دریا اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
شب سیاہ میں کچھ تو مجھے سہولت ہو
کسی کی یاد کا تارا اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
جو ہو سکے تو ذرا مختلف بنا اب کے
میں قصر ذات کا ملبہ اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
یہ پیاس علم کی کچھ تو بجھائیے صاحب
بڑے جتن سے میں بستہ اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
حوالے دھوپ کے جس نے مجھے کیا اک دن
اسی کے واسطے سایہ اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
تمام اشک سرابوں میں ڈھل گئے ارشدؔ
شکستہ آنکھ میں صحرا اٹھا کے لایا ہوں
