شیشۂ دل میں ترے واسطے بال آیا کیوں
یہ مجھے تجھ سے نہ ملنے کا خیال آیا کیوں
میں تو خوش تھا کہ ترا مان رکھا ہے میں نے
تیرے چہرے پہ مگر عکس ملال آیا کیوں
اور بھی غم تھے مگر ایک نیا غم یہ ہے
میں ترے سامنے یوں غم سے نڈھال آیا کیوں
کیسے اس دل کو مرے چین ملا اول شب
درد کی سرمئی شاموں پہ زوال آیا کیوں
صرف اک کار محبت تھا جو کرنا تھا مجھے
اپنے ذمے کئی کام اور نکال آیا کیوں
اک ستارہ مری دہلیز پہ ٹوٹا کیسے
اک سمندر کو مرے در پہ ابال آیا کیوں
اس کی معصوم نگاہوں میں نہ تھا جس کا جواب
میرے ہونٹوں پہ وہی حرف سوال آیا کیوں
