روز دینے لگے آزار یہ کیا
اور سمجھتے ہو اسے پیار یہ کیا
جرم الفت کی ہے تقدیر یہ کیوں
ہم سے رہتے ہیں وہ بیزار یہ کیا
ناتوانی ہوئی ہمدرد مری
درد کہتا ہے کہ سرکار یہ کیا
تم تو غارت گر دل ہو صاحب
پھر تمہیں کہتے ہیں دل دار یہ کیا
آہ کی میں نے تو بولے ہے ہے
جی اٹھا عاشقؔ بیمار یہ کیا

na-tawani hui hamdard meri

tum to ghaarat-gar-e-dil ho sahab
phir tumhein kahte hain dildar ye kya
aah ki main ne to bole hai hai
ji uTha 'ashiq'-e-bimar ye kya
