غم کی سوغات ہے خموشی ہے

چاندنی رات ہے خموشی ہے

میں اکیلا نہیں کہ باتیں ہوں

وہ مرے سات ہے خموشی ہے

میری بربادیوں کی سازش میں

ضبط کا ہات ہے خموشی ہے

کیسا آسیب ہے کہ ہر جانب

جشن جذبات ہے خموشی ہے

وقت کے زخم زخم ہونٹوں پر

ان کہی بات ہے خموشی ہے

پھر اسی طرح گرم ماتھے پر

کانپتا ہاتھ ہے خموشی ہے

صبح نو ہو کہ شام غم اسلمؔ

گوشہ‌‌ٔ ذات ہے خموشی ہے
