کھلی آنکھوں کو کوئی بند کر دو

کھلی آنکھوں کی ویرانی سے ہول آتا ہے

کوئی ان کھلی آنکھوں کو بڑھ کر بند کر دو

یہ آنکھیں اک انوکھی یخ زدہ دنیا کی

ساکت روشنی میں کھو گئی ہیں

اب ان آنکھوں میں

کوئی رنگ پیدا ہے نہ کوئی رنگ پنہاں ہے

نہ کوئی عکس گلبن ہے

نہ کوئی داغ حرماں ہے

نہ گنج شائگاں کی آرزوئے بے نہایت ہے

نہ رنج رائیگاں کا عکس لرزاں ہے

اگر کچھ ہے تو بس

اک یخ زدہ نیا کا نقش جاوداں ہے

یہ آنکھیں

اب شعاع آرزو کی ہر کرن سے یوں گریزاں ہیں

کہ پتھر بن گئی ہیں

یہ آنکھیں مر گئی ہیں
