بس اک چراغ کوئے انتظار میں رکھا

عجب طلسم تغافل تھا جس نے دیر تلک

مری انا کو بھی کنج خمار میں رکھا

اڑا دیے خس و خاشاک آرزو سر راہ

بس ایک دل کو ترے اختیار میں رکھا

نہ جانے کون گھڑی تھی کہ اپنے ہاتھوں سے

اٹھا کے شیشۂ جاں اس غبار میں رکھا

یہ کس نے مثل مہ و مہر اپنی اپنی جگہ

وصال و ہجر کو ان کے مدار میں رکھا

لہو میں ڈولتی تنہائی کی طرح خاورؔ

ترا خیال دل بے قرار میں رکھا
