ضبط کرنا نہ کبھی ضبط میں وحشت کرنا

اتنا آساں بھی نہیں تجھ سے محبت کرنا

تجھ سے کہنے کی کوئی بات نہ کرنا تجھ سے

کنج تنہائی میں بس خود کو علامت کرنا

اک بگولے کی طرح ڈھونڈتے پھرنا تجھ کو

روبرو ہو تو نہ شکوہ نہ شکایت کرنا

ہم گدایان وفا جانتے ہیں اے در حسن

عمر بھر کار ندامت پہ ندامت کرنا

اے اسیر قفس سحر انا دیکھ آ کر

کتنا مشکل ہے ترے شہر سے ہجرت کرنا

پھر وہی خار مغیلاں وہی ویرانہ ہے

اے کف پائے جنوں پھر وہی زحمت کرنا

صورت ماہ منیر اب کے سر بام آ کر

ہم غریبوں کو بھی کچھ رنج عنایت کرنا

جمع کرنا تہ مژگاں تجھے قطرہ قطرہ

رات بھر پھر تجھے ٹکڑوں میں روایت کرنا

کام ایسا کوئی مشکل تو نہیں ہے خاورؔ

مگر اک دست حنا رنگ پہ بیعت کرنا
