مشقت کا خزانہ مانگتا ہے
مری محنت زمانہ مانگتا ہے
ہر اک لمحہ دل آوارہ فطرت
مسافت کا خزانہ مانگتا ہے
مقدر سے جسے مانگا تھا میں نے
اسے مجھ سے زمانہ مانگتا ہے
عجب پاگل ہے میرے من کا پنچھی
قفس میں آشیانہ مانگتا ہے
ہمیں ہر آن آمادۂ ہجرت
ہمارا آب و دانہ مانگتا ہے
ستم یہ ہے کہ ہم تشنہ لبوں سے
ستم گر آبیانہ مانگتا ہے
ہمارے شہر کا مرد سبک سر
کلاہ خسروانہ مانگتا ہے
مرا ہر اک منافق یار مجھ سے
خلوص دوستانہ مانگتا ہے
