نئے پرانے خیالوں کا اک اچھوتا میل

کسی کی یاد کا بھٹکا ہوا کوئی جگنو

کسی کے نیلے سے کاغذ پہ چند ادھورے لفظ

بغاوتوں کا پرانا گھسا پٹا نعرہ

کسی کتاب میں زندہ مگر چھپی امید

پرانی غزلوں کی اک راکھ بے دلی ایسی

خود اپنے آپ سے الجھن عجیب بے زاری

غرض کہ موڈ کے سو رنگ آئینے پرتو

مگر یہ کیا ہوا اب کچھ بھی لکھ نہیں سکتا

نہ جانے کب سے یہ بے معنی خامشی بے محیط

خود اپنے سائے سے میں چھٹ گیا ہوں یا شاید

کہیں میں لفظوں کی دنیا کو چھوڑ آیا ہوں
