دھول آنکھوں میں پڑی ہو جیسے

ہر کوئی اور کوئی ہو جیسے

سائے کے ساتھ لگے رہتے ہیں

یہ بھی اپنا ہی کوئی ہو جیسے

پاؤں پھیلائے پڑی ہے امید

مدتوں پو نہ پھٹی ہو جیسے

اپنی ہر بات پہ ہوتا ہے گماں

ہم نے پہلے بھی کہی ہو جیسے

ہنسنے لگتے ہیں تو دھمکاتی ہے

زندگی ہم سے بڑی ہو جیسے

درد کو اجنبی کہنے والے

تو نے آواز نہ دی ہو جیسے

پو پھٹے خوش ہیں کہ وہ آئے گا

آج کی رات ابھی ہو جیسے

ہائے وہ نیند اڑاتی آنکھیں

خواب میں عمر کٹی ہو جیسے

اس طرح آیا ہے ملنے مجھ سے

مجھ سے ملتے ہی بنی ہو جیسے

ہر کسی چہرے سے اٹھتی ہے لپک

شہر میں آگ لگی ہو جیسے

دل میں اترے تو چھپا کر رکھئے

رات ہیرے کی کنی ہو جیسے

ہجر کی رات اور اشکؔ اتنی سست

وقت کی چوٹ لگی ہو جیسے
