مسافر کے رستے بدلتے رہے

مقدر میں چلنا تھا چلتے رہے

مرے راستوں میں اجالا رہا

دیئے اس کی آنکھوں میں جلتے رہے

کوئی پھول سا ہاتھ کاندھے پہ تھا

مرے پاؤں شعلوں پہ جلتے رہے

سنا ہے انہیں بھی ہوا لگ گئی

ہواؤں کے جو رخ بدلتے رہے

وہ کیا تھا جسے ہم نے ٹھکرا دیا

مگر عمر بھر ہاتھ ملتے رہے

محبت عداوت وفا بے رخی

کرائے کے گھر تھے بدلتے رہے

لپٹ کر چراغوں سے وہ سو گئے

جو پھولوں پہ کروٹ بدلتے رہے
