مجھے شکوہ نہیں برباد رکھ برباد رہنے دے

مگر اللہ میرے دل میں اپنی یاد رہنے دے

قفس میں قید رکھ یا قید سے آزاد رہنے دے

بہر صورت چمن ہی میں مجھے صیاد رہنے دے

مرے ناشاد رہنے سے اگر تجھ کو مسرت ہے

تو میں ناشاد ہی اچھا مجھے ناشاد رہنے دے

تری شان تغافل پر مری بربادیاں صدقے

جو برباد تمنا ہو اسے برباد رہنے دے

تجھے جتنے ستم آتے ہیں مجھ پر ختم کر دینا

نہ کوئی ظلم رہ جائے نہ اب بیداد رہنے دے

نہ صحرا میں بہلتا ہے نہ کوئے یار میں ٹھہرے

کہیں تو چین سے مجھ کو دل ناشاد رہنے دے

کچھ اپنی گزری ہی بیدمؔ بھلی معلوم ہوتی ہے

مری بیتی سنا دے قصۂ فرہاد رہنے دے
