مرے بدن کی تپش روح تک اتارے گا

وہ آئنے میں کبھی میرا روپ دھارے گا

شعور غم اسے دہرائے گا ہزاروں بار

یہ ایک رات کئی سال تک گزارے گا

کبھی تو آئے گی باد سموم اس جانب

کبھی تو وقت مجھے شاخ سے اتارے گا

یوں ننگے سر نہ چلو کوچۂ تصور میں

خیال لفظ کا پتھر اٹھا کے مارے گا

اے اہل شہر اٹھاؤ نہ اتنے اونچے مکاں

شب فراق کسے راستہ پکارے گا

ہوس کا عکس پڑے گا اکیلے کمرے میں

کوئی نہ ہوگا تو آئینہ آنکھ مارے گا

وہ لڑ جھگڑ کے چلا تو گیا ہے دور کہیں

نہ جانے اشکؔ مجھے کس طرح بسارے گا
