جینے کے لیے جو مر رہے ہیں

آغاز حیات کر رہے ہیں

ہے حسن کا نام مفت بدنام

لوگ اپنی طلب میں مر رہے ہیں

غنچوں کی طرح کھلے تھے کچھ لوگ

کرنوں کی طرح بکھر رہے ہیں

ہے نقش قدم پہ نقش زنجیر

دیوانے جدھر گزر رہے ہیں

سنتا ہوں کہ آپ کے وفادار

انجام وفا سے ڈر رہے ہیں

ساحل کو بھی چھوڑتے نہیں لوگ

کشتی پہ بھی پاؤں دھر رہے ہیں

اب دشت میں نرم رو ہوا سے

کچھ نقش قدم نکھر رہے ہیں

روحوں میں نئی سحر کے باعث

ذہنوں کے نشے اتر رہے ہیں

ہم جیسے تمام نام لیوا

دھبا ترے نام پر رہے ہیں

خوشبو سے لدی بہار میں بھی

ہم درد سے بہرہ ور رہے ہیں

ہر دور کے فن شناس دانشؔ

ناکام حصول زر رہے ہیں
