برسر روزگار تھے پہلے

ہم بھی یاروں کے یار تھے پہلے

آج یہ زیست ہم پہ بار سہی

زیست پر ہم بھی بار تھے پہلے

آج ہم وقت کو پکارتے ہیں

وقت کی ہم پکار تھے پہلے

آؤ اب ان کی چھاؤں بھی ڈھونڈیں

جو شجر سایہ دار تھے پہلے

گو کہ خوشیاں ہیں بے شمار مگر

غم بہت خوش گوار تھے پہلے
