کچھ بس ہی نہ تھا ورنہ یہ الزام نہ لیتے

ہم تجھ سے چھپا کر بھی ترا نام نہ لیتے

نظریں نہ بچانا تھیں نظر مجھ سے ملا کر

پیغام نہ دینا تھا تو پیغام نہ لیتے

کیا عمر میں اک آہ بھی بخشی نہیں جاتی

اک سانس بھی کیا آپ کے ناکام نہ لیتے

اب مے میں نہ وہ کیف نہ اب جام میں وہ بات

اے کاش ترے ہاتھ سے ہم جام نہ لیتے

قابو ہی غم عشق پہ چلتا نہیں ورنہ

احسان غم گردش ایام نہ لیتے

ہم ہیں وہ بلا دوست کہ گلشن کا تو کیا ذکر

جنت بھی بجائے قفس و دام نہ لیتے

خاموش بھی رہتے تو شکایت ہی ٹھہرتی

دل دے کے کہاں تک کوئی الزام نہ لیتے

اللہ رے مرے دل کی نزاکت کا تقاضا

تاثیر محبت سے بھی ہم کام نہ لیتے

تیری ہی رضا اور تھی ورنہ ترے بسمل

تلوار کے سائے میں بھی آرام نہ لیتے

اک جبر ہے یہ زندگی عشق کہ فانیؔ

ہم مفت بھی یہ عیش غم انجام نہ لیتے
