ہم ایک شہر میں جب سانس لے رہے ہوں گے

ہمارے بیچ زمانوں کے فاصلے ہوں گے

وہ چاہتا تو یہ حالات ٹھیک ہو جاتے

بچھڑنے والے سبھی ایسا سوچتے ہوں گے

یہ بے بسی سے تری راہ دیکھنے والے

گئے دنوں میں ترے خواب دیکھتے ہوں گے

کہا بھی تھا کہ زیادہ قریب مت آؤ

بتایا تھا کہ تمہیں مجھ سے مسئلے ہوں گے

وہی صفات و خصائل ہیں اور وہی لہجے

یہ لوگ پہلے کبھی بھیڑیے رہے ہوں گے
