مرے ثبوت بہے جا رہے ہیں پانی میں

کسے گواہ بناؤں سرائے فانی میں

جو آنسوؤں میں نہاتے رہے سو پاک رہے

نماز ورنہ کسے مل سکی جوانی میں

بھڑک اٹھے ہیں پھر آنکھوں میں آنسوؤں کے چراغ

پھر آج آگ لگا دی گئی ہے پانی میں

ہمیں تھے ایسے کہاں کے کہ اپنے گھر جاتے

بڑے بڑوں نے گزاری ہے بے مکانی میں

یہ بے کنار بدن کون پار کر پایا

بہے چلے گئے سب لوگ اس روانی میں

وصال و ہجر کہ ایک اک چراغ تھے دونوں

سیاہ ہو کے رہے شب کے بے کرانی میں

بس ایک لمس کہ جل جائیں سب خس و خاشاک

اسے وصال بھی کہتے ہیں خوش بیانی میں

کہانی ختم ہوئی تب مجھے خیال آیا

ترے سوا بھی تو کردار تھے کہانی میں

نہ چاہیئے مجھے وہ آسماں جو میرا نہ ہو

میں خوش ہوں اپنی ہی مٹی کی آسمانی میں
