اپنی اپنی زبان بولتے ہیں

یہ زمین، آسمان بولتے ہیں

گفتگو ہو تو شہرِ جاں میں سکوت

خامشی ہو تو کان بولتے ہیں

کچھ کہیں تو فصیلیں سنتی ہیں

چپ رہیں تو مکان بولتے ہیں

بات ہوتی ہے دو دلوں کے بیچ

اور دو خاندان بولتے ہیں

دکھ تو یہ ہے کہ آپ ایسے دوست

دشمنوں کی زبان بولتے ہیں

جو سرِ بزم بولے ہم، تو کہا

آپ کیوں درمیان بولتے ہیں

اِک نہیں اذنِ گفتگو ہم کو

آپ کے ترجمان بولتے ہیں

آدمی بولتا ہے نیزے پر

جب بھی تیر و کمان بولتے ہیں
