مال و دولت نہ لعل و گہر چاہئے
مدعا کے لئے چشم تر چاہئے
میرے شیشے میں مے ہو نہ ہو غم نہیں
مجھ پہ ساقی تری بس نظر چاہئے
اس جہاں میں رہے مجھ کو جینے کا حق
بس عنایت تری اس قدر چاہئے
ہر طرف راہزن ہیں مری راہ میں
مجھ کو تجھ سا کوئی راہبر چاہئے
جس تصور میں شاہدؔ رہے آج تک
وہ تصور انہیں عمر بھر چاہئے

mujh ko tujh sa koi rahbar chahiye
jis tasawwur mein 'shahid' rahe aaj tak
wo tasawwur unhen umr bhar chahiye
