موسم بدل سکے نہ ترے انتظار کے
اب کے بھی دن گزر گئے یوں ہی بہار کے
غم خیز و غم شناس مری پر شکوہ رات
کب آؤگی پہاڑ سا یہ دن گزار کے
آیا حضور یار سے شاعر کو یہ پیام
آئے شراب و شعر کا چوغا اتار کے
دل میں ترے اتر نہ سکی میری کوئی بات
لکھے ہیں لاکھ شعر غزل کے سنوار کے
ایک مشت خاک بن کے اڑا دل کا کارواں
دشت طلب میں اب بھی نشاں ہیں غبار کے

gham-KHez-o-gham-shanas meri pur-shikoh raat
kab aaogi pahaD sa ye din guzar ke
aaya huzur-e-yar se shair ko ye payam
aae sharab-o-sher ka chogha utar ke
dil mein tere utar na saki meri koi baat
likkhe hain lakh sher ghazal ke sanwar ke
ek musht-e-KHak ban ke uDa dil ka karwan
dasht-e-talab mein ab bhi nishan hain ghubar ke
