بھرے پڑے ہوئے سب باغ و راغ تھے اس دن

گلی میں پھول گھروں میں چراغ تھے اس دن

یہ اور بات ترے سامنے نہیں آئے

مرے جلو میں کئی بد دماغ تھے اس دن

اڑا لیا تھا کسی نے خمار آنکھوں سے

تہی صباحت گل سے ایاغ تھے اس دن

شکستہ حال پڑا تھا میں اپنے بستر پر

کھلے ہوئے سبھی رنگ فراغ تھے اس دن

کہیں لباس بدلتے ہوئے ستارے تھے

کہیں لہکتے ہوئے خانہ باغ تھے اس دن

ہمیں وہ ڈھونڈ نہ پایا تھا رات بھر ساجدؔ

کہ ہم اسی کی طرح بے سراغ تھے اس دن
