ٹھہرنے کو ہے بستی کے در و دیوار پر پانی

کہ اب پتھر میں ڈھلتی جا رہی ہے موج حیرانی

خیال آتا ہے شہر آرزو کو چھوڑ دینے کا

بہت دشوار ہو جاتی ہے جب بھی کوئی آسانی

یقیں آیا کہ ارزاں ہے متاع لطف دنیا میں

نتیجہ ہے عدو کی قدر کرنے کا پشیمانی

مسلسل بڑھ رہا ہوں جادۂ اسلام پر اب تک

مگر خوش آئے گا کس کو مرا طر مسلمانی

وہی صورت وہی اطوار نیک و بد وہی لہجہ

وہ پل بھر میں کہیں سے ڈھونڈ لایا ہے مرا ثانی

مرے شعروں میں بہتا ہے سمندر میرے ورثے کا

کہ میں گلشن طراز رنگ سحباں ہوں نہ خاقانی

جدائی کی کسک مٹ جائے گی ساجدؔ مرے دل سے

اگر پہچان لے بڑھ کر مجھے وہ دلبر جانی
