جام جم لایا ہے گھر گھر دنیا کے حالات

دل کی باتیں ہم تیری تصویر سے پوچھتے ہیں

دنیا کب کروٹ بدلے گی کب جاگیں گے شہر

کیسی باتیں سوئے ہوئے ضمیر سے پوچھتے ہیں

ہم سے نہ پوچھو کس جذبے نے تمہیں کیا ناکام

بادشاہ ایسی باتیں اپنے وزیر سے پوچھتے ہیں

عہد سے کون مکر جائے گا تاروں کو کیا علم

لکھی نہیں جو تو نے اس تحریر سے پوچھتے ہیں

قاصرؔ نے تو دیکھا ہے اب تک فاقوں کا رقص

جوہری طاقت کیا ہے جوہر میرؔ سے پوچھتے ہیں
